Fighting Fines for Students

The National Center for Youth Law, a partner in the Debt Free Justice campaign, is supporting local partners in several states to eliminate fines and fees imposed on youth. Senior Attorney Angie Jimenez will discuss how Illinois schools, who have been banned from fining students, are enlisting local police to ticket students for school-based behaviors and how local advocates are working to end this harmful practice.
