In 2024, Utah introduced additional legislation to eliminate "child support" fees for youth in custody in the juvenile and child welfare systems. In 2022, Utah passed HB 392, suspending youth expungement fees for one year. In 2017, Utah capped youth fees and fines as part of a larger juvenile justice reform bill (HB 239). Advocates are working to abolish all fees and fines in the juvenile justice system. To learn more or join the campaign, contact us at [email protected].
